This short historical return walk climbs from Old Yogai Onsen to the 780 m summit of Mount Yogai and the Yogai Castle ruins. Built by Takeda Nobutora in 1520 as a refuge castle in time of war, the mountain stronghold retains its main enclosure, earthworks, dry moats and terraces, while a summit monument marks the traditional birthplace of Takeda Shingen.
