From Hosenji in northern Kofu, this ridge return climbs the 446 m Mount Yumura, where Takeda Nobutora built a lookout castle in 1523, and continues over Mount Hosenji to Mount Hachioji, known locally as Hakusan. Stone steps and paving appear before Mount Hosenji, ancient stone-mound tombs dot the trail, and the summit with Hachioji Shrine looks over the Kofu Basin to Mount Fuji and the Southern Alps.
