From Fukada Memorial Park in Hokuto, this loop climbs through broadleaf forest past the Onna-iwa rock to the 1,704 m Kayagatake, where the writer Fukada Kyuya died, then follows the ridge to the twin-topped Kanagatake (1,764 m). The paired peaks are called Nise-Yatsu, the false Yatsugatake, for their resemblance to that range, and the summits look out to Mount Fuji, the Southern Alps, Yatsugatake and the Kofu Basin.
