This figure-eight circuit starts at Kentoku Park in Tokuwa, climbs the traditional trail through Kokushigahara and the rocky summit route to Mount Kentoku, then descends past Kogen Hut and returns over Mount Doman and Tokuwa Pass. Forest, open grassland and rock ridge follow in succession, culminating in the chain-assisted Otori-iwa slab and a 360-degree panorama from the 2,031-metre summit.
