Mount Komotsurushi rises to 1,379 m at the western end of the Tanzawa range on the border between Yamakita Town in Kanagawa and Dōshi Village in Yamanashi. The summit opens to the west with sweeping views of Mount Fuji, Lake Yamanaka, and Mount Mishōtai, and on clear days the Southern Alps; its ridge is mantled in old beech forest. The mountain lies on the Tōkai Nature Trail and is included in lists such as Kantō Hyakuzan, Kai Hyakuzan, and Yamanashi Hiking 100.
