Ōmuroyama is a 1,588 m mountain on the boundary between Yamakita Town in Kanagawa and Dōshi Village in Yamanashi, regarded as the dominant peak of the western Tanzawa Range within Tanzawa-Ōyama Quasi-National Park. Its broad summit ridge of beech primeval forest is dressed with mitsubatsutsuji and yamatsutsuji azaleas in late spring and offers viewpoints of Mount Fuji and the Southern Alps. Long revered as the seat of the Ōmuro Gongen deity, the peak is included in the Yamanashi 100, Kanto 100, Kanagawa and Yamanashi prefectural guides, and many other regional 100-peak selections.
