犬越路避難小屋

Shelter at about 1,060m at Inukoshiji, a pass in the western Tanzawa of Tanzawa-Oyama Quasi-National Park, in Nakagawa, Yamakita Town, Ashigarakami District, Kanagawa Prefecture. The saddle lies roughly 1.3km south-southeast of Mt. Omuro and 2.7km northwest of Hinokiboramaru, a hub where paths climb up from the Nishi-Tanzawa Visitor Center side to the southwest and from the Kannogawa side to the north. It is one of the Tanzawa shelters managed by the Kanagawa Prefectural Natural Environment Conservation Center and has a toilet. The prefecture describes these shelters as public facilities built to avert emergencies in the mountains and save lives, and asks that they not be used for planned or routine overnight stays except when there is no alternative. Open flame is banned indoors and out; solid fuel, alcohol stoves and candles may not be used. Visitors are also asked to carry out their rubbish, not to monopolise the space, to shut the doors and windows on leaving, and to sign the hut log.
