From Mizukoshi Pass on the Osaka-Nara border, this loop climbs Momiji Valley, crossing the stream repeatedly and passing check dams, to the Kunimi Castle site on Mount Kongo, then returns past Dainichidake and the Futoo fort site to the pass. Mount Kongo is the highest mountain in Osaka Prefecture, its summit area holding the Kunimi Castle site, Katsuragi Shrine and Tenporinji, and the ascent is a varied valley walk with rocky steps and stream crossings.
