White Valley Matsubara is a ski area north of Hiroshima City, in the Matsubara district of Akiota, just off Route 191, and it opened in 1985. Two pair chairlifts serve five mostly beginner and intermediate runs, the longest about 1,000 metres and the steepest 30 degrees. After a string of low-snow winters, the operator suspended the ski area from the 2017-18 season, and no reopening has been announced. The lifts are still standing. It is about 14 kilometres from the Togouchi IC on the Chugoku Expressway.
