Mt. Hijirisan

Mt. Hijirisan is a 1,113 m peak on the border between Akiōta and Kitahiroshima towns in Yamagata District, Hiroshima Prefecture, standing beside the Seiko Group Facilities zone of the Nishi-Chūgoku Sanchi Quasi-National Park. The trail starts from Lake Seiko, a reservoir formed by the Tarutoko Dam in the northwestern Chūgoku Mountains, and the peak is most often traversed together with neighbouring Mt. Takadake (1,054 m). The larch-clad summit offers only limited views but is a quiet ridge looking toward the Yawata Plateau and Mt. Osorakan, and it is listed among the Hiroshima 100 Famous Mountains selected by the prefectural alpine federation in 1998.
