Mount Jippōzan (1,319 m), on the border of Hatsukaichi City and Akiōta Town in Hiroshima Prefecture, is the third-highest peak in the prefecture after Mount Osorakan and Mount Yoshiwa-Kanmuri. Part of the western Chūgoku Mountains, its name ("ten directions") reflects the all-round panorama from its summit, which on clear days reaches the Seto Inland Sea and Shikoku's Ishizuchi range. Above about 1,200 m the slopes rise past the tree line into dwarf-bamboo grassland. It appears in lists such as the Hiroshima 100 Mountains and the Chūgoku 100 Mountains.
