This is Shikaoi's small town-run ski hill in the town sports park, and it is free to use. A simple tow lift serves a single slope about 300 metres long, with room for sledding beside it, so local children and families drop by to play in the snow or practise skiing. The slope is floodlit and open from the morning into the evening, which makes it easy to fit in after school or work. A new lodge was built in 2018-19 for warming up between runs. The town opens it from late December into March, closed over New Year, and the opening can slip when snow is late.
