Akenogaoka is Makubetsu town's small municipal ski hill, on the north slope of Akenogaoka Park. A single pair lift serves one 252 m run with an average pitch of about 12.6 degrees, which makes it a gentle place to learn, and there is a sledding course for children. The slope is floodlit, and on weekdays it opens only in the evening, so locals ski after work or school. The town ski association runs evening lessons and the town ski race here. There is no rental, so bring your own gear.

- Children (junior high and under) and seniors (60+): half-day ticket ¥800
- Elementary and junior high students in Makubetsu Town use lift tickets distributed through their schools
- Junior high and younger from outside the town ride free only during ski lessons
