Parc Sugo Ski Area Closed
Official name パルクすごうスキー場 · Formerly 数河高原スキー場, スノーランドすごうスキー場
Gifu
Open 1963–2003
Parc Sugo Ski Area stood on the Sugo plateau beside Route 41 at Sugo Pass in Furukawa, now Hida City, Gifu. The Meitetsu-group firm Okuhi Kanko Kaihatsu opened it around 1963 as Sugo Kogen Ski Area, and its powder and views of the Northern Alps drew families and young skiers from Nagoya. It had two lifts and two runs, and added a halfpipe in 1995. When Okuhi pulled out in 1999, the local tourism association and a local firm kept it going as Parc Sugo, but with dwindling visitors and steady losses it closed on 23 March 2003. The old slope has since hosted snow-hut contests and snowmobile rides.
