Moya Hills trail map
Moya Hills is Aomori City's own ski area, about 30 minutes by car from downtown on the north face of Mt. Moya. Its draw is the view: Mutsu Bay by day and the city lights at night, with night skiing every day of the season. A high-speed quad and pair lifts serve gentle family slopes, steeper intermediate runs, an ungroomed expert pitch off the top and a 1.8 km winding trail, and after heavy snowfall the upper slopes can hold deep powder. There is a kids' area with a sledding lane, ski schools and rentals. In summer the hill becomes a park with a roller luge and campsite.
