Mount Odake, the 1,584 m main peak of the Hakkoda Mountains, rises south of Aomori City. Hakkoda is a group of 18 volcanic peaks. A day loop of about five hours over Odake starts and ends at Sukayu Onsen without using the ropeway. The summit has a bowl-shaped crater and a stone shrine.
