Shichinohe Town Ski Area sits near the middle of southern Aomori, and its main appeal is how easy it is to drop in for an evening session after work. Five runs follow the natural lie of the land, with pitches from 15 to 35 degrees, so there is something for beginners through to strong skiers, and families can also go sledding. SAJ-qualified instructors run ski lessons and badge tests, a rental shop sits across from the lift, and the town hutte serves ramen and curry. It is about 11 minutes by car from Shichinohe-Towada Station on the Tohoku Shinkansen. The season usually runs from late December to mid-March, closed on Mondays.
