Midori no Daichi to Roman no Mori Park Ski Area is a small town-run hill that opens on the slopes of a public park in Ottomo, Tohoku Town, each winter. Two rope tows serve the slope, and the town ski club runs junior lessons, making it an easy place for local children to ski, snowboard or play in the snow. In a typical season it opens from weekday afternoons into the evening and during the day at weekends. The park itself is planted with red pines over 60 years old and cherry trees, with a thatched house called Manaka on the hill. It is about a 10-minute walk from Ottomo Station on the Aoimori Railway.
