Miyada Kogen Ski Area Closed
Official name 宮田高原スキー場
Nagano
Open 1970–1987
Miyada Kogen Ski Area was a small ski hill on the Miyata Kogen plateau in Miyada village, Kamiina, Nagano, at about 1,650 to 1,700 metres. It opened in December 1970 with one single chairlift, two rope tows and two runs of around 400 metres. Reaching it meant a winding 12-kilometre mountain road from the village below, and it closed in 1987. All the lifts have been removed, and the site is now the Miyata Kogen campground, open in summer, with views of the Central and Southern Alps.
