IOX-AROSA trail map
IOX-AROSA sits on the eastern slopes of Mt. Okuio in Nanto, Toyama, and is the only ski area in the prefecture with a gondola, which also runs for night skiing so you can ride to the summit under the lights. From the top you look out over the scattered farmhouses of the Tonami Plain, and a run of about 3 km links the summit to the base. It is named after Arosa in Switzerland. Seven courses cover beginner to advanced terrain, with a snow park that includes an easy line, a kids' snow area with a moving walkway, an indoor play room and cottages next to the slopes. It is about 15 minutes from the Fukumitsu interchange and roughly 40 minutes by car from Kanazawa.

Train
- Fukumitsu Station JR Johana Line · From Toyama Station via the Ainokaze Toyama Railway, changing at Takaoka: about 1 hour to the ski area. From Osaka or Nagoya, change to the Hokuriku Shinkansen at Kanazawa and to the Johana Line at Shin-Takaoka (about 4 hours to 4 hours 15 min) → Taxi

Backcountry
Leaving the marked ski area is forbidden; winter climbers and ski mountaineers must file a climbing plan (登山届) at the management office, and rescue costs outside the boundary are charged to the skier.
