Open 1993–2005
Hiwada Kogen Okezitta Ski Area was a small ski area on the Hiwada plateau in former Takane Village, now Takayama City, Gifu, beside Route 361 near the border with Kiso in Nagano. It opened in 1993 with a single and a pair chairlift and two beginner-to-intermediate runs between 1,320 m and 1,490 m. It welcomed snowboarders early and had a half-pipe and snowmobile rides, but once larger, easier-to-reach resorts allowed snowboarding its visitors dwindled, and it closed after the 2004/05 season. The lifts and buildings are gone; nearby stand the track and gym of the Hida Ontake high-altitude training area.
