Official name ひだ乗鞍ペンタピアスノーワールド
Gifu
Open 1997–2007
Pentapia Snow World was a village-run ski area on the northwestern slopes of Mt. Norikura in Nyukawa, now part of Takayama, Gifu. Opened in 1997, it had two double chairs and four runs between about 1,365 and 1,535 m. It was then Gifu's only skiers-only area, with snowboarding banned, and it also had a cross-country course. Falling visitor numbers led to its suspension, and it was formally abolished in January 2007. The lifts have been removed and the base building now serves as a guide centre for the Goshikigahara forest trails; Hoonokidaira Ski Area still runs about 1 km to the west.
