Official name 古川スキー場
Gifu
Open 1956–1990
Furukawa Ski Area was a small hill on the southern edge of former Furukawa town, now part of Hida City, in the Takano district. The slope was prepared in December 1956 and hosted a Gifu Prefecture ski competition in 1958. A single chairlift was added around 1963, serving about 80 m of vertical and runs up to roughly 500 m, and the area was used for town events and by local families. The hut beside the slope became the Hida-Furukawa Youth Hostel in 1982. The ski area closed around 1990 and the lift has been removed. Since about 2002 a local volunteer group has been planting cherry trees on the old slope, which now appears on maps as Senbonzakura Yume Park.
