Engaru Rock Valley Ski Area trail map
Engaru Rock Valley is the town ski area of Engaru in Hokkaido's Okhotsk region, right next to Engaru IC, and its lodge is the upper floor of the Engaru 'Mori no Okhotsk' roadside station, so you walk straight from the shops onto the snow. Its signature Champion Course is FIS-homologated, a long straight pitch of up to 33 degrees used by racing teams and school ski clubs for training camps. Easier family slopes and a long forest trail, reachable from a mid-station on the pair lift, make it workable for beginners too. The lift, new in 2019, reaches the top in about seven minutes, and added lighting allows night skiing from the summit. In summer a 300 m artificial PIS*LAB slope keeps skiing going.
