Mombetsu Oyama Ski Area is the city's own ski hill, right next to central Mombetsu on Route 238 in Hokkaido's Okhotsk region. Its slopes look straight out over the Sea of Okhotsk, and in winter you can ski with drift ice in view. Two lifts serve runs up to 1,077 m long with a maximum pitch of 23 degrees, plus a beginner and sled course, and the first lift is floodlit for evening skiing Monday to Saturday. A hut with a canteen and equipment rental make it a handy family hill.
