Dolphin Valley Closed
Official name ドルフィンバレイ · Formerly ヒババレイスキー場, ドルフィンリゾートヒババレイ
Hiroshima
Open 1987–2007
Dolphin Valley was a ski area on the west slope of Tateeboshi-yama in the Hiba mountains, in Hiwa, Shobara, northern Hiroshima. It opened in 1987 as Hiba Valley, named after the Hibagon, a local legendary creature, and took the dolphin name in 1997-98 as part of its owner Tsuneishi's resort plans. Five runs fell from about 1,180 m to 730 m, the longest 2,100 m, served by five lifts, and snowmaking let it open early for the region. A board park and very late weekend night sessions made it popular with snowboarders. It closed in 2007, and the lifts were reported to be still standing.
