Mt. Kenashiyama

Mt. Kenashiyama is a 1,144 m peak on the Hiroshima-Shimane prefectural border between Shōbara City and Okuizumo Town, standing at the northern end of the Hiba Mountains within Hiba-Dōgo-Taishaku Quasi-National Park. Surrounded by some of the Chūgoku Mountains' finest pure beech and broadleaf forests, the bare summit offers a 360-degree panorama taking in the Hiba range, distant Mt. Daisen, and the Sea of Japan. The Hiroshima Kenmin no Mori prefectural recreation site maintains a roughly 6 km, 2.5-hour beginner loop from the park centre over Mt. Kenashi and back via Izumo Pass; the peak is also included in the Hiroshima 100 Famous Mountains.
