Chokai Okojoland Ski Area Closed

Chokai Okojoland was a small ski hill in the Sarukura district of Chokai, Yurihonjo, close to the Hotel Foresta Chokai. It had a single lift and about 1.2 km of runs with less than 150 m of vertical, and its slope looked straight across at snow-covered Mount Chokai. First run by the local municipality and later by Yurihonjo City after the merger, it was abolished in 2014. The city's remaining ski areas are Yashima, Nagasaka and Odaira.
