Asahi Ski Area was a small city-run hill in the Asahi district of Shibetsu, northern Hokkaido. With one lift and two runs, a wide intermediate slope and a gentler beginner course, it was valued locally for good snow and weekday night skiing, and it hosted the long-running Asahi Alpine race. Its ageing lift could no longer be run safely and replacing it would have been costly, so the city ended operations after the 2025-26 season, with the last day on 22 March 2026, and formally abolished the ski area on 30 June 2026. Its role passed to the city's Hinata Ski Area.
