Nayoro Piyashiri Ski Area trail map
Nayoro Piyashiri sits on the western foot of Mount Piyashiri above Nayoro, a northern Hokkaido town where winter nights can fall to -30°C and the snow is famously dry and light. Its highlight is a set of tree-run zones, the longest about 1.4 km, open to riders who register first, plus ungroomed steeps such as "the Wall" at 35 degrees. Gentler groomers, a rime-ice cruising run, a slopestyle park and a kids' park round it out, and lifts are free for children through junior high. Night skiing runs on Thursdays and Fridays, and the Nayoro Onsen Sunpillar hotel with hot spring baths stands right at the base, about 15 minutes by car from town.
