Onanji-mine

大汝峰

Onanji-mine is a 2,684 m peak on the prefectural border between Hakusan, Ishikawa, and Shirakawa, Gifu. Its summit hosts Onanji Shrine, dedicated to Onamuchi-no-mikoto, a guardian deity of Hakusan worship. The peak has been venerated since Taicho opened the mountain in 717 during the Nara period. Within Hakusan National Park, it is reached in a little over an hour from Murodo and marks the northern end of the Oikemeguri lake-circuit route.
