Shiramine Ski Competition Venue trail map
Shiramine Ski Competition Venue is the joint name for an alpine course and a cross-country course in the Shiramine district of Hakusan. The alpine side is the former Hakusan Shiramine Onsen ski area, opened in 1971 on Mt Aoyagi with about 540 m of vertical and Ishikawa's only SAJ-certified giant slalom course, and it has hosted the national junior high school championships. The old resort closed to the public after the 2007-08 season, but two pair lifts and the Young Valley slope still serve racing and training, and anyone can ski there on days without competitions. The cross-country venue, built in 1999, has loops from 800 m to 5 km. Shiramine Onsen is nearby.
