Koguma-yama is a 1,302.7 m foothill peak on the western shore of Lake Kizaki in Ōmachi City, Nagano Prefecture, set in front of the Northern Alps. A viewing area along the summit forest road overlooks the lake, with the Ushiro-Tateyama range — Kashimayari-dake and Jii-dake among them — rising behind. A roughly 14.5 km trekking course laid out by the local tourism association links Shinano-Kizaki Station, Lake Kizaki Campground, Koguma-yama, the Saru-ga-jō ridge and Kurosawa Highland down to Yanaba Station, making it accessible to beginners. The combination of autumn foliage with the first snow on the Northern Alps draws visitors in late autumn.
