Mt. Jukkokuyama

十石山

Jukkokuyama (2,524.8 m) stands on the Nagano-Gifu border at the northeastern end of the Norikura volcanic group, between Matsumoto City and Takayama City. It crowns the Jukkoku Ridge that branches northeast from the main Norikura cone, with its surrounding ridgeline designated as a special protection zone of Chubu-Sangaku National Park. A volunteer-run emergency hut (Jukkoku-toge Hinangoya) sits just below the summit, which is prized as a quiet vantage point on the Hotaka range and the Norikura summit. It is one of the Gifu 100 Excellent Mountains.
