Mt. Funakubodake

Mt. Funakubodake is a 2,303 m peak on the Toyama–Nagano prefectural boundary along the southern Ushiro-Tateyama main ridge of the Hida (Northern Alps) Range; its second peak rises to 2,459 m. The name refers to the boat-hull-shaped depression of the ridge near Funakubo-nokkoshi. The mountain is known for Veitch's fir forest and a large colony of false hellebore, with chained and ladder-equipped sections through landslide terrain near the summit. It is climbed mainly via the Nanakura ridge trail.
