Mount Yukikura is a 2,611 m peak straddling Itoigawa City in Niigata Prefecture and Asahi Town in Shimoniikawa District, Toyama Prefecture, sitting at the northernmost end of the Ushiro-Tateyama Range of the Northern Alps within Chūbu-Sangaku National Park. Listed in the Nihon Nihyaku Meizan, the Niigata 100 Meizan, the Toyama 100 Mountains, and the Onsen Hyakumeizan, it is one of the celebrated summits on the high traverse between Mount Shirouma and Mount Asahi. Its broad green crown and west-facing slopes hold a wealth of alpine flowers — kuroyuri lilies, takane-matsumusi-sō, and komakusa — putting it in the company of Japan's classic flower mountains. The standard ascent on the Niigata side begins at Renge Onsen and loops over Asahi-dake or Korenge-yama; Asahi-goya hut at the foot of Asahi-dake is the principal steward of the connecting trail.
