Mount Yokoo

Mount Yokoo is an 1,818.1 m peak on the border of Hokuto City in Yamanashi and Kawakami Village in Nagano, marking the western end of the Okuchichibu massif. From Shinshū Pass on the prefectural border, a well-maintained trail reaches the summit in about 90 minutes one way, climbing past Kayato-no-hara — a bamboo-grass meadow whose openness frames a wide view of Mounts Mizugaki, Kinpu, Fuji, the Southern Alps, and the Yatsugatake range. The peak features in Yamanashi Hyakumeizan, Kōshū Hyakuzan, and the Yamanashi Hiking 100 selection.
