Mount Nanatsuishi (1,757 m) lies on the boundary between Tabayama Village in Yamanashi and Okutama Town in Tokyo, on the Ishione Ridge that runs south from Mount Kumotori within Chichibu-Tama-Kai National Park. The summit takes its name from seven great boulders said to be the petrified retainers of the warrior Taira no Masakado, venerated at the Nanatsuishi Shrine—rebuilt in 2018 and guarded by carved wolves. The trail from Kamosawa over Nanatsuishi is one of the principal approaches to Mount Kumotori, Tokyo's highest peak.
