Mount Fushimi

Mount Fushimi is a 1,792 m peak straddling Obihiro City and Memuro Town in Hokkaido, set in the northern Hidaka range. A maintained ridge stretches west to Mount Pipairo, and from the summit visitors enjoy sweeping views of the northern Hidaka skyline. The peak was named in the 1950s, when the Memuro Mountain Club cleared a route to Pipairo and combined the former village names Fushiko and Yoshio to christen the previously unnamed summit. The trail begins beyond Mio Dam, and a free 30-person emergency hut sits near the trailhead. The mountain is included in Hokkaidō Hyakumeizan.
