Timber hut at 2,420m in an open hollow of forest in the saddle between Tsujiyama and Sunaharaidake, south-east of the Hoo Sanzan in the Southern Alps. It lies on the traverse from the Yashajin Pass trailhead over Tsuetate Pass and Ichigodaira toward Yakushidake and Kannondake; Yamanashi Kotsu buses reach the trailhead from Kofu Station in about an hour and seventeen minutes. Its great asset is the spring beside the building, which does not freeze even in winter and is free to use, and a designated campsite adjoins the hut with no reservation needed. There are separate men's and women's dormitories, and private rooms can be arranged on request. Sheltered in its hollow, it has a reputation as an unhurried place to stay. Run together with Yakushidake Goya by the same family, it also opens over the New Year period.
