Unmanned emergency shelter beside Ikeyama-oike at about 2,200m on the Ikeyama-tsurione ridge that rises toward Kitadake in the Southern Alps. Administered by Minami-Alps City, it is open at all times. Deep forest surrounds it, and on the flat ground a little below, a small pond forms in some seasons. Standing on a quiet ridge away from the main summer routes, it is best known as a base for winter attempts on Kitadake. There is a water source, but it is a 50-minute round trip and the area around it is easy to lose one's way in. Nothing is stocked — no food, no bedding — and care with fire is stressed.
