Shizuoka prefectural hut at about 2,620m on the western slope of the ridge linking the Arakawa peaks with Akaishidake in the Southern Alps. Operated by Tokushu Tokai Forest, it sits near the low point of the traverse from Arakawadake over Daishojidaira to Akaishidake, making it the pivotal overnight stop between the two massifs. It sleeps 50, with two-meal or room-only stays (bedding provided); mid-July and from late September it is room-only. A campsite for about 30 tents adjoins and is taken on the day. There is water below the campsite, though it can dry up in low-water periods. Outside the season the winter hut is opened, but the toilet is closed, so a portable toilet is needed.
