Shizuoka city emergency hut at about 2,410m on the western side of the ridge running from the Arakawa peaks to Ogouchidake in the Southern Alps. Tokushu Tokai Forest operates it; during its short summer season a keeper is present and takes room-only guests with bedding, on a first-come basis with no reservations. Besides the 10-person hut there is a campsite for about 20 tents. Water is found ten minutes down the gully in front of the hut, or at a spring beside the trail about fifteen minutes toward Nakadake. No meals are served, but retort food, cup noodles, trail snacks and drinks are sold. Toilet use is covered by the lodging or camping fee, with portable toilet bags handed out. Outside the season the ground floor is left open.
