赤岳山荘

Lodge at 1,700m at Minoto, about an hour on foot up the forest road from Minotoguchi in the southern Yatsugatake range, standing just below where the Kitasawa and Minamisawa trails divide. It is the last hut at Minoto, the trailhead for Akadake, Amidadake, Yokodake and Io-dake; drivers can come all the way up, and there is parking for 60 cars. Buses run to Minotoguchi from Chino Station. Open year-round, it sleeps 40 and requires a reservation. There is a bath, a water point and Wi-Fi. Mountain vegetables in spring, mushroom dishes in autumn and home-made nozawana pickles in winter appear on the table, and the snack menu features a roast beef bowl made with Nagano beef. The lodge also runs a tent sauna. There is no campsite.
