仙水小屋

2,141 m · Minami-Alps, Yamanashi · 0.9 km from the summit of Mt. Futagoyama

Small hut at 2,130m by the headwaters of the Kitazawa, partway along the trail from Kitazawa Pass toward Sensui Pass in the northern Southern Alps. It sits quietly among conifers, about forty minutes on foot from the bus stop at Kitazawa Pass, the terminus of the Southern Alps forest-road bus. Climbers heading for Kaikomagatake by way of Sensui Pass use it as a night-before base. It takes only 20 guests and is strictly by reservation, which keeps the stay unhurried. Water is piped from the source of the Kitazawa, and the hut also experiments with micro-hydro power. A designated campsite for 11 tents adjoins it and needs no reservation. The hut cannot be used when the keeper is away.
