六合目小屋

Unstaffed stone shelter at about 2,545m on the ridge roughly 1.2km northwest of the summit of Kaikomagatake, at the northern end of the Southern Alps, in Hase, Ina City, Nagano. It lies on the traverse from Kaikomagatake to Nokogiridake, a section known as a difficult route of scree and rock. Hokuto City's course guide for the Kuroto ridge, the main route up Kaikomagatake, gives a cumulative ascent of about 2,300m and a total of roughly 16 hours (about 9h40 up, 6h20 down) at grade 6D, with June to early October as the climbing season, and counts it among Japan's three great steep ascents. The Oshirakawa Gorge trailhead parking holds 100 cars but fills up on summer weekends. No official description of this shelter itself could be found, so its size and terms of use are unknown.
