Tsuguro Kogen Ski Area Closed

Official name 津黒高原スキー場

Okayama

Closed in 2025

Tsuguro Kogen Ski Area was a small city-run slope on Mt. Tsuguro at the northern edge of Maniwa City, Okayama, in the Hiruzen highlands. Attached to the municipal lodge Tsuguro Kogen-so, it had a chairlift and beginner-to-intermediate runs with views of Mt. Daisen and the three Hiruzen peaks. The ski area did not open for the 2023-24 season because a qualified lift manager could not be found, and in December 2024 the city decided to abolish it at the end of fiscal 2024, citing falling visitor numbers, poor snow and the cost of renewing ageing equipment. The lodge and campground next door remain open.
