Suzuran Kogen Ski Area Closed
Official name 鈴蘭高原スキー場
Gifu
Open 1969–2006
Suzuran Kogen Ski Area stood on the Suzuran plateau in Asahi, Takayama (formerly Asahi village), Gifu, with views of Mt. Ontake and Mt. Norikura. It opened in 1969 and at its height ran nine lifts plus a short gondola, with the village's ski jumps beside it. Far from the expressways, it steadily lost visitors and closed after the 2005-06 season. By 2019 all lifts and buildings had been removed; the neighbouring Suzuran Kogen Country Club golf course remains open.
