Okukannabe Ski Area trail map
Okukannabe Ski Area, known locally as "Okukan", sits furthest up and highest of the ski areas on Kannabe Kogen in northern Hyogo, and has a reputation for serious terrain. Steep options include the 35-degree mogul run nicknamed "Dangan", the Tochinoki course used for races, and the wide Super Gelande, and powder can linger after snowfall. It is not only for experts: a top-to-bottom run of about 3.1 km links the summit with the base via forest trails, and a gentle family course lets you ride the lift with a sled. The area is about 15 minutes by car from the Hidaka-Kannabe-Kogen exit of the Kitakinki-Toyooka Expressway.
