Mineyama Kogen Resort WHITE PEAK opened in December 2017 on the Mineyama plateau in Kamikawa, central Hyogo, as Japan's first new ski area in 14 years. It is close to the cities, about an hour from Himeji and ninety minutes from Kobe and Osaka, and backs up natural snow with snowmaking. Two lifts serve three runs, a beginner course and two intermediate ones up to about 1.2 km long, and one of the largest kids' parks in the prefecture adds sledding and snow play, so it suits families and first-timers. A floodlit slope stays open into the evening on weekends, Hotel RelaXia sits beside the slopes, and a shuttle bus runs from JR Teramae Station.
